NANMMA Annual Convention

Assalamu alaikkum wa rahmatullahi wabarakathuhu..

Dear members:

Hope you and family are staying safe and healthy in these difficult times. May Allah protect us all and find cure for COVID-19 as soon as possible.

As you may already know, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to postpone our Annual NANMMA convention scheduled in Dallas on April 11, 2020.

Alhamdulillah, our election commissions have done a fabulous job of selecting our new delegates and board of directors for both the US and Canada.

NANMMA Supports Kerala Muslim Students Association in Canada for Helping Students, Impacted By COVID-19

Assalamu Alaikum Brothers and Sisters,

We hope all of you are staying safe and keeping the spirit high.

The current situation due to the COVID-19 has impacted all of us, and many international students from our community in Canada are in dire need. With the current lockdown and closure of stores, many of them are without a job and struggling to meet their basic needs.

The government has announced emergency financial aids for its people, even for those who are not eligible for employment insurance. However, there is no support for the international students facing hardships due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Malayalee Muslim student organization in Canada (TLM) is conducting a fundraising to help its fellow students and request all community members to contribute and support. They are in the process of identifying students who need immediate help. As the first phase, they are planning to provide them with groceries, medicine, and hygiene supplies. Executive Team for 2020-2022 Term

Assalamu Alaikum All,

Alhamdulillah, NANMMA Election Commission in the US and Canada has completed the process of determining the NRDs and NBDs for the 2020-2022 term. The list is available at https://nanmmaonline.org/2020-executive-team/. Please take this moment to welcome them and pray for their success.

The NRD nomination process started on January 6th and ended on January 31st. It involved each nominee making their interest in executive positions and activities during the application. They were notified of a process in which the election commission in each country would prepare a panel based on their interests. The new NRDs were welcomed to contest the panel to have an election. Accordingly, the panel was proposed to the NRDs for review. The panel includes a deputed member from the NTC to guide the new executive team during the term. NRD Election for 2020-2022 Term

Assalamu Alaikum!,

It is time to elect (or re-elect) NANMMA Regional Delegates (NRDs) for the 2020 -2022 term. We invite NRD nominations from your area for the next two years. NANMMA members may self-nominate with a reference from their local community. There is no limit to the number of nominations from an area.
