Kerala COVID Relief

السَلَامُ عَلَيكُم وَ رَحْمَةُ الله وَ بَرَكَاتُه

NANMMA is joining hands with AKMG Humanitarian Services for raising funds to fight COVID crisis that is threatening the largest democracy in the world – India. As the second wave of the pandemic rages in India let us come together to help the people prevent a catastrophe. We are inviting all local and national organizations to be part of this initiative, please reach out to Fazil Abdu at (514) 917 7976.

AKMG has assessed the situation and identified that supplying adequate high-quality protective equipment and pulse oximeter will ensure the safety of health care professionals and the public thereby preventing continued transmission of the virus. COVID cases are expected over 50,000 per day in the next 2 weeks in Kerala and hence, the current effort is focusing on Kerala. Qatar Airways has agreed to ship these to Kerala free of charge.

In this desperate situation, any donation will help make an impact. Please donate generously as much as you can. This is a humanitarian crisis probably the largest one we will witness. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause.

Medical Help for 14 Year Old Boy

Assalamu alaikum,

NANMMA has been contacted by a member for her cousin’s 14-year-old son to support an extremely urgent bone marrow transplant to save his life.

He is under the treatment at Christian Medical College, Vellore, India.

Khaiz Mohammed is an ambitious 14-year-old in Kerala, India – diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia. This is a type of blood disorder that is life-threatening. He is the oldest in his family and has two siblings (an 11-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl).

The medical team is planning to proceed with the bone marrow transplant since it is critical to saving his life. The donor is his 11-year-old brother.

Since we verified that this request is genuine and the family can not afford the expenses, we request you all to contribute generously to make it easy for the family. The estimated cost of the transplant is  (USD35,000). The cost may be higher in the presence of unforeseen complications and extended hospital stay.
